The river Li is one of the most beautiful sites around Beijing. In summer, mountains covered with green trees are balanced by the wonderful river scenery. You can go hiking in the mountains or take a cruise on the lake.
Every year in winter Longqing hosts a festival of ice sculptures and lanterns. The whole mountain is then illuminated and finely carved statues of ice attract visitors from all over Beijing.
