Located about 70 kilometres north-east of Beijing, this section of the Great Wall was built in the 6th century under the Northern Qi Dynasty, then consolidated under the Ming Dynasty. Renovated in the 1980s, this area boasts a cable car and a toboggan run – lots of fun for all the family! Combine a trip to the Wall with visiting the ancient Ming Tombs, the resting place of 13 emperors.
