DAY01:

LUANG PRABANG
Arrive in Luang Prabang. In the evening, you can walk through the vibrant night market. Spend the night in Luang Prabang.

DAY02:

LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU CAVES - LUANG PRABANG
Cruise the famous Mekong River. This river boat trip will take you to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, full of statues of Buddha in different sizes and styles. Arrive at the village of Ban Xang Hai where you will discover how its residents make traditional rice wine. In the afternoon, return to Luang Prabang and visit two villages which still practise the traditional art of Laotian weaving. The day will end with the chance to watch a beautiful sunset from Wat Siphouthabath. Spend the night in Luang Prabang.

DAY03:

LUANG PRABANG
The day is devoted to the exploration of Luang Prabang by bicycle, a fun and environmentally friendly way to explore the city. Visit Wat Visun, Wat Aham and Wat Xieng Thong. In the afternoon, head to the weaving centre at Ock Pop Tock, an organization that allows weavers to earn a living wage using their expertise. Visit the village of Ban Xang Khong to discover Mulberry paper, known in Laos as Saa paper. On the way back to the city, through the mountains of Phou Sy, enjoy the fantastic sunset over Luang Prabang. In the evening, you can visit one of many of the city’s massage centres for a traditional Lao massage and sauna. Spend the night in Luang Prabang.

DAY04:

LUANG PRABANG – VIENTIANE
Head to the Tamarind Cafe where head chef Joy Ngeuamboupha you help you discover the secrets of Lao cuisine. After taking a tuk-tuk to the Phou Sy Market, we will buy the ingredients necessary for Lao cooking. Back in the café, Joy will prepare some favourite local dishes such as khao niauw or sticky rice, oh paedek or soup with pork and laarb kai or Lao spicy chicken salad. In early afternoon, depart to the famous waterfalls of Khouang Si. Take a short walk to visit the shrine before bathing in waterfalls and relaxing by the water. Then come back to Luang Prabang and transfer to the airport for your flight to Vientiane. Spend the night in Vientiane.

DAY05:

VIENTIANE
Breakfast at the hotel. Then departure for the Cooperative Orthotic and Prosthetic Enterprise, known as the COPE Center, which teaches tourists about the hidden costs of the Vietnam War on the Laos population. Then on to the Buddha Park where there are hundreds of Buddhist and Hindu statutes. On the way back to the city, see the Centre for Vientiane Orchids, a truly unique place where Laville Bertrand, a French expert stores the largest collection of orchids in the world. In the afternoon, departure for a tour of Vientiane by tuk-tuk. The first stop will be at Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo where once stood the famous emerald Buddha. Stop at Vientiane’s Triumph Arch called Patuxay on the way to the national icon of Laos, Stupa That Luang. Spend the night in Vientiane.

DAY06:

VIENTIANE - PAKSE - KHONE ISLAND
After an early breakfast, transfer to Wattay airport for your flight to Pakse, the capital of the province of Champasack where the Mekong and Sedong rivers meet. Depart for Wat Phou, an ancient religious site located in one of Laos' most spectacular regions. Take a car to Wat Phou but return via a boat on the Mekong. Make your way to Khone Island, just one of 4,000 islands in this region. Explore this amazing island on foot or by bicycle. There is plenty of places to visit, but you can also take the opportunity to relax, swim or explore the island at your own pace. Spend the night in Khone Island.

DAY07:

KHONE ISLAND - PAKSE
Take a boat ride through the 4,000 Islands region, and with a little luck, you can even see the Irrawaddy dolphins of the Mekong, a rare and exotic species! Return to Pakse with a stop on the way to famous waterfall of Khone Phapeng. It is the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia and known as the Niagara Falls of Asia. Spend the night in Pakse.

DAY08:

PAKSE
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Luang Prabrang, Vientiane or Siem Reap. Then board an international flight to your next destination.
