New Delhi - Leh - Uleytokpo - Lamayuru - Tsomoriri - Tsokar ......

DAY01:

NEW DELHI
Fly into New Delhi and rest. Spend the night in New Delhi.

DAY02:

NEW DELHI - LEH
Transfer to the airport for a one-hour-and-twenty-minute flight to Leh. Limit your activities in order to acclimatize to the altitude (3,500 metres). Spend the night in Leh.

DAY03:

LEH
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Spituk and Phyang monasteries which give you panoramic views of the valley and the mountains. Climb up to the 800-yea-old Leh Royal Palace where you can discover the multi-storey palace. View artifacts and photographs in the Palace Museum. Spend the night in Leh.

DAY04:

LEH
Visit the Shey Monastery which was built as the summer palace of Ladakh’s kings. Walk around the enormous Thiksey Monastery, which resembles Tibet’s Potala Palace. Spend the night in Leh.

DAY05:

LEH - ULEYTOKPO
Start out in the morning on a beautiful road that winds along the Indus River. You will suddenly see the Likir Monastery which includes a school and a museum, with a wonderful collection of thangkas, armour and monastic kitchenware. Don’t miss the very large Buddha statue in one of the many halls. The smaller Alchi Monastery is the oldest temple in Leh. It contains many beautiful murals, unique woodwork and clay sculptures. Spend the night in Uleytokpo.

DAY06:

ULEYTOKPO - LAMAYURU - LEH
Take a day trip to the Lamayuru Monastery set in a picturesque valley. You can hike through the surrounding mountains and meet friendly villagers. Spend the night in Leh.

DAY07:

LEH – TSOMORIRI
Drive to the magical Lake Moriri and marvel at its turquoise waters. Various animals and birds live on the lake including cranes, geese, lynx, Himalayan sheep, snow leopards and Tibetan wolves. Spend the night in Tsomoriri.

DAY08:

TSOMORIRI - TSOKAR - LEH
Depart for Lake Kar. Until a few years ago the lake was an important source of salt, which the Changpa nomads used to export to Tibet. Travel back to Leh through the Tanglang mountain pass, which is 5,224 metres high. Spend the night in Leh.

DAY09:

LEH - STOK - LEH
Take a day to explore the Stok Palace which houses a large library including all 108 volumes of the most important Tibetan Buddhist text called the Kangur. Spend the night in Leh.

DAY10:

LEH – KHARDUNG – NUMBRA VALLEY
Travel through the Khardung Pass (5,570 metres) to the village of Khardung before continuing on to the isolated Nubra Valley. The Shyok River meets the Nubra River in this wide valley. Spend the night in Nubra Valley.

DAY11:

NUBRA VALLEY
Visit the town of Panamik, north of the Nubra valley. Panamik is famous for its sulfur hot springs. Stroll through the Panamik market and browse its produce including Pashmina shawls, woolen socks, walnuts and almonds. Spend the night in Nubra Valley.

DAY12:

NUBRA VALLEY - LEH
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Gelupa sect Dikshit Monastery. Travel through Hunder, known as the land of the sand dunes, which used to be the capital of the Nubra kingdom during the 17th century. Spend the night in Leh.

DAY13:

LEH - NEW DELHI
Transfer to the Leh Airport and fly to New Delhi. Spend the night in New Delhi.

DAY14:

NEW DELHI
Transfer to the airport for a flight to your next destination.
