DAY01:

DELHI
Arrive in Delhi. Take a free afternoon to explore the city. Spend the night in Delhi.

DAY02:

DELHI - PARO - THIMPHU
Take a two-hour-and-fifteen-minute flight from Delhi to Paro. Drive to the capital city of Thimphu. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, which is for many Bhutanese people the focus of their daily worship. It was built in 1974 as a memorial to the third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Spend the night in Thimphu.

DAY03:

THIMPHU
Visit the National Library, the Painting School, the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, the National Textiles Museum and the fortress of Trashi Chhoe. Spend the night in Thimphu.

DAY04:

THIMPHU - GANGTEY
Drive up to the town of Gangtey via the Dochu Pass (3088 metres in altitude). The pass gives you an excellent view of the Bhutanese Himalayas. Visit Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest of Bhutan’s monasteries. Take time to explore the massive Gangte Goemba monastery complex which looks over the entire Phobjikha Valley. The extensive complex includes monks' quarters, a small guesthouse and outlying meditation centres. Spend the night in Gangtey.

DAY05:

GANGEY - PUNAKHA
You will be taken on a guided tour of one of the most popular sights in Bhutan, Punakha Dzong. The second palace fort to be built in Bhutan, it served as the capital and seat of government until it lost its position to Thimphu in 1955. Wander the village of Talo, which was once a royal summer palace. Spend the night in Punakha.

DAY06:

PUNAKHA - PARO
Enjoy the natural landscape as you drive to Paro. Tour the romantic ruins of the Drukyel Dzong. Spend the night in Paro.

DAY07:

PARO
Take a hike up to Taktsang Monastery, known as the Tiger’s Nest. The famous mystic, Padma Sambhava who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, was said to have flown off the Taktsang cliff. Spend the night in Paro.

DAY08:

PARO - DELHI
Drive to the Paro airport for your flight to Delhi. Transfer at Delhi for an international flight to your next destination.
