DAY 1:
KUNMING – DALI
Fly to Kunming and drive through rice fields to the ancient town of Dali set by the enchanting Erhai Lake. Walk to the village of Xizhou to discover the Bai architecture and Zhoucheng Village to discover the ancient art of batik cloth. Stroll through the old city which has retained a unique character with narrow streets and shops. Spend the night in Dali.
DAY 2:
DALI – LIJIANG
Take a tour of Erhai Lake and the Temple of the Three Pagodas. After lunch, drive through beautiful landscapes on the way to Lijiang. Visit small villages of ethnic minorities before coming into the large valley where Lijiang is located. Spend the night in Lijiang.
DAY 3:
LIJIANG
Take a whole day to explore the old town of Lijiang with cobbled streets, canals, countless small bridges and stone houses. Walk in the peaceful park of the Black Dragon Pool. In the evening, enjoy a concert of Naxi music. Spend the night in Lijiang.
DAY 4:
LIJIANG
Take a cable car to the Yunshan Meadow to see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and visit the Yufeng Monastery. Visit the Baisha village, discover famous Buddhist art from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Walk in the nearby village of Longquan. Spend the night in Lijiang.
DAY 5:
LIJIANG – ZHONGDIAN
Depart for Zhongdian, the Tibetan region in northern Yunnan formerly known as Shangri-La. The road passes through beautiful scenery on the borders of the provinces of Tibet, Yunnan and Sichuan. Stop at the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest river in the world and to Shigu, a delightful little village located at the first bend of the Yangtze. Spend the night in Zhongdian.
DAY 6:
ZHONGDIAN
Visit Song Zanling Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple complex in Yunnan Province, which is known as the Little Potala Palace. Visit the Napahai Market and a Tibetan family. Enjoy a performance of Tibetan songs and dances. Spend the night in Zhongdian.
DAY 7:
ZHONGDIAN – KUNMING
Travel back to Kunming, then transfer to the airport for a flight to your next destination.
