Qufu - Taishan
DAY01:
BEIJING – QUFU – TAI’AN
Catch a fast train from Beijing to Qufu, only two and a half hours. Wander the hometown of Confucius and visit the temple of Confucius, the residence of the descendants of the master and the Forest of Confucius which is the family cemetery. Late in the afternoon, drive to Tai’an, the city at the foot of Mount Taishan. Spend the night in Tai’an.
DAY02:
TAI'AN – TAISHAN - BEIJING
Mount Taishan (1524 m) is the guardian mountain of the East, symbolising the rising sun. Hike up the auspicious 6666 steps on the face of Mount Taishan (4 to 6 hours depending on your pace) or take the cable car. Walk to the spot where pilgrims have worshipped the Jade Emperor, the most important of all Taoist gods, for many centuries. Take an evening fast train back to Beijing, a two-hour journey.

* There is an option for next day departure for those people who wish to spend a night on the mountain. In the evening, attend the Fengshan ceremony at Tianzhu Peak, which is now accompanied by a spectacular musical performance. Or simply meditate as you watch the magical sunrise on the Summit
