Jinshanling - Chengde
DAY01:
BEIJING - JINSHANLING - CHENGDE
Leave Beijing early in the morning. Stop halfway in Jinshanling, a peaceful section of the Great Wall. Hike or ride a cable car to the best viewpoints. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Drive through the mountains to the city of Chengde located alongside a peaceful river. Visit the Imperial Park and Summer Palace, known as the Avoiding the Heat Mountain Villa. Built under the reign of Emperor Kangxi in 1703, the park covers 560 hectares and offers many quiet corners to enjoy the serenity. Spend the night in Chengde.
DAY02:
CHENGDE - BEIJING
Visit the two important Tibetan Buddhist temples. The temple of the Universal Peace (Puning) houses the world's tallest wooden statue of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara. The biggest temple in Chengde is the “Small Potala Palace” (Putuo Zongsheng) which modelled on the world-famous Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Drive back to Beijing in the afternoon.
