These two temples are the oldest temples in the vicinity of Beijing. The Tanzhe temple has 1,600 years of history after being founded under the Western Jin Dynasty (265-316). The Jietaisi Temple, or Temple of the Ordination Altar, takes its name from its famous Ming marble altar, constructed 1,300 years ago.
