Colombo - Dambulla - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya - Matale - Kandy......

DAY01:

COLOMBO - HABARANA
Arrive in Colombo. Drive to Dambulla for a ride on an elephant. Dinner. Spend the night in Harabana.

DAY02:

HABARANA - ANURADHAPURA - AVUKANA - HABARANA
Take an excursion to the ancient capital of Anuradhapura. Discovery the amazing Avukana standing Buddha. This 39-feet tall and 10-feet wide statue was carved out of one single rock during the reign of King Dhatusena in 459 to 477 AD and is the tallest Buddha statue in existence today. Spend the night in Habarana.

DAY03:

HABARANA - SIGIRIYA - POLONNARUWA - HABARANA
Visit the ruins of the ancient city of Sigiriya dramatically perched on a rocky outcrop in the middle of a lush plain. The city is thought to be built during the short-lived Kassapa empire. On your way up the mountain, see Lion Rock and world-renowned frescoes. Discover the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa and visit the monastery to see amazing Buddhist statues carved out of a single slab of granite. Spend the night in Harabana.

DAY04:

HABARANA - DAMBULLA - MATALE - KANDY
See Buddha’s life depicted on the walls of the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka at Dambulla. Visit a spice garden in Matale. Continue to Kandy. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth which houses Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. Enjoy a dance performance featuring the Kandyan style of dancing which originated in Kandy but is now popular around the country. Spend the night in Kandy.

DAY05:

KANDY - PINNAWELA - KANDY
Walk in the footsteps of the Royal Family inside the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. The area of more than 60 hectares houses a large collection of orchids and a massive Javan fig tree. Depart for to visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. It boasts one of the biggest captive elephant populations in the world drawn from raising baby orphaned wild elephants and its own breeding program. In the afternoon, take a tour of the city of Colombo ending with a stroll on the seafront at sunset. Spend the night in Kandy.

DAY06:

KANDY - NUWARA ELIYA
Discover the hill station of Nuwara Eliya with a subtropical highlands climate. The town was formerly known as Little England as British plantation owners and civil servants liked to visit to go fox hunting, deer hunting and elephant hunting or gather to play polo, golf and cricket. Now it is the centre of tea production in Sri Lanka. Spend the night in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY07:

NUWARA ELIYA - UDAWALAWA OR YALA
Take a jungle safari through the Udawalawe and Yala National Parks. Learn about the wildlife from expert guides while you travel by jeep deep into the forest. Lunch and dinner. Spend the night near the jungle.

DAY08:

UDAWALAWA OR YALA - WALES - BENTOTA OR HIKKADUWA
Depart for Galle, the biggest former colonial city of the island. Walk through the old town and in the fort. Continue to the West Coast beaches of Bentota and Hikkaduwa. Spend the night near Bentota and Hikkaduwa.

DAY09:

BENTOTA OR HIKKADUWA
You have a free day on the shores of the Indian Ocean. Spend the night in Bentota and Hikkaduwa.

DAY10:

BENTOTA OR HIKKADUWA - COLOMBO
Depart for Colombo. In the afternoon, take a tour of the city of Colombo ending with a stroll on the seafront at sunset. Spend the night in Colombo.

DAY11:

COLOMBO
Transfer to the airport for a flight to your next destination.
