DAY 1:

KUNMING
Fly to Kunming. Take a trip to the Western Hills that stand over Lake Dianchi. Visit the Dragon Gate and sculptures carved into the rock. Visit the Golden Taoist Temple. Spend the night in Kunming.

DAY 2:

KUNMING - LUNAN
Travel to Lunan and visit the Stone Forest, an impressive collection of limestone karst formations. Spend the night in Lunan.

DAY 3:

LUNAN - YUANYANG
Depart to the highlands of Yunnan and the Ailao Mountains. Visit the famous tea plantations. Spend the night in Yuanyang.

DAY 4:

YUANYANG
A whole day dedicated to the visit of the surroundings of Yuanyang, where the rice terraces spread out below you in a kaleidoscope of many different colours. Visit the villages of the Hani ethnic minority and see many people wearing traditional clothing. Spend the night in Yuanyang.

DAY 5:

YUANYANG - JIANSHUI
Drive to Jianshui and visit the Wenmiao Temple, built in the Yuan Dynasty after the model of the Confucius Temple in Qufu. Visit the Garden of the Zhu family, a 20,000 square metre complex built during the Qing Dynasty. Spend a night in the Garden of the Zhu Family.

DAY 6:

JIANSHUI – KUNMING
Travel back to Kunming. Transfer to the airport for a flight to your next destination.

The best time to visit the Yuanyang area is between December and April when the terraces have been flooded in preparation for the rice planting.
