DAY01:

CHONGQING - CIQIKOU
Arrive in Chongqing, the most populous city in China with the outer suburbs totalling 32 million residents. Visit the Ciqikou Ancient City and stroll through narrow streets when shopkeepers sold their wares in the same way hundreds of years ago. Visit Chongqing Zoo, including seeing a sizeable population of Giant Pandas. Board your Yangtze River Cruise Boat. Spend the night on board in a comfortable private room.

DAY02:

FENGDU - MINSHAN - SHIBAOZHAI - QUTANG - WU
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the river with a morning cruise. After lunch, visit Fengdu, the City of Ghosts, which is featured in many classic Chinese texts including Journey to the West. The boat passes close to Shibaozhai, the famous wooden pagoda built 56 metres high in a unique architectural style. The boat passes through the Kui Gate which will signify your entry to Qutang Gorge, the first of the Three Gorges which is 8 kilometres long. It is the shortest and narrowest gorge. The boat then enters the Wu Gorge. The 40 kilometres of the gorge is marked by long canyons and strange mountain peaks which create clouds and fog in a variety of fantastic shapes. Spend the night on the cruise boat.

DAY03:

XILING
You can transfer to a small boat for a side trip to Shennong Stream, a small tributary of the Yangtze. This section of wild river is the home to the Tujia people, who have adapted their culture to living by the river such as the use of hanging coffins which are suspended above the stream. Return to the boat and enter the third gorge, Xiling Gorge which is 80 kilometres long. The boat will cross the lock of the gigantic Three Gorges Dam. The dam project cost the Chinese Government $37 billion including building the dam wall which measures 185 metres high. Spend the night on the cruise boat.

DAY04:

YICHANG
Visit the great Three Gorges Dam shore. Climb nearby Jar Hill so that you can appreciate the magnificence of the world’s largest hydroelectric complex. Transfer to the nearby Yichang Sanxia Airport to catch a flight to your next destination.
