DAY01:
SHANGHAI
Arrive in Shanghai. Check into your hotel and rest. In the evening, start your gastronomic adventure by choosing a top class restaurant on the Bund or fill up on street food on Nanjing Road. Spend the night in Shanghai.
DAY02:
SHANGHAI
Learn about the town’s long history of trade and recent construction of the new districts at the Shanghai History Museum. View the city from 263 metres above the ground from the viewing platform of the Pearl Orient Tower. Stand on its glass floor, if you dare, to truly appreciate the tower’s height. In the afternoon, visit Shanghai’s Old Town and Yu Yuan, Garden of Happiness. Overnight at hotel in Shanghai.
DAY03:
SHANGHAI - Xitang - SHANGHAI (1h30)
Take a day trip to Xitang Water Town. The town is entirely built around canals. The village includes many ancient bridges, streets and alleyways, as well as old houses that date back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Enjoy a relaxing lunch and a boat cruise down the canals. Return to Shanghai in the late afternoon. Spend the night in Shanghai.
DAY04:
SHANGHAI
Take a visit to the Shanghai Museum in the People’s Square and the Jade Buddha Temple, a Buddhist temple that was founded in 1882 to house two jade Buddha statues imported from Burma. In the afternoon, stroll in the old French Concession and take a tour of the former residence of the Father of China, Sun Yat-Sen. In the evening, be amazed by a Chinese Acrobatics performance. Spend the night in Shanghai.
DAY05:
SHANGHAI - HANGZHOU - SHANGHAI
Take a fast train to Hangzhou, just one and a half hours away. Board a boat for a relaxing cruise on the famous West Lake. In the afternoon, visit the Linyin Temple Pagoda, the Liuhe Pagoda of Six Harmonies and a tea plantation in Meijiawu. Return back to Shanghai by fast train in the late afternoon. Spend the night in Shanghai.
DAY06:
SHANGHAI
You have a free day to catch up on shopping. Head to the famous Pearl Market, an up-market shopping centre or try the tailors in the Old Town. Make a reservation for one of Shanghai’s classy restaurants. Spend the night in Shanghai.
DAY07:
SHANGHAI
Transfer to the airport for a flight to your next destination or head to the station for a fast train to Beijing.
