DAY01:

BEIJING
Arrive in Beijing. Give yourself a free afternoon to wander the city streets. Spend the night in Beijing.

DAY02:

BEIJING
Visit the Forbidden City, the imperial palace for Chinese Emperors for nearly 500 years. Wander through rooms once filled occupied by emperors, empresses, eunuchs and concubines. It remains the largest and best preserved attraction in China. Walk through the world’s largest city square, Tiananmen Square. Explore the Wangfujing Shopping District and spend your evening in the night market which offers visitors a chance to try street food and culinary curiosities such as skewers of scorpions. Spend the night in Beijing.

DAY03:

BEIJING - JINSHANLING- BEIJING
Drive two and a half hours to Jinshanling where you can experience a peaceful stretch of the Great Wall without a crowd of tourists. Hike or ride a cable car to the best viewpoints. Return to Beijing in the late afternoon. Taste the famous dish of Beijing, Peking duck, while watching songs and dances inspired by Peking Opera. Spend the night in Beijing.

DAY04:

BEIJING
Visit the magical Lama Temple, the most famous Tibetan Buddhist temple in China outside Tibet. You can then learn about China’s most famous philosopher, Confucius, at a temple which was founded in 1306. It is the largest Confucian temple in China apart from the temple in Confucius’ hometown. Then take a rickshaw ride through the Hutongs, the small alleyways of Beijing, and have lunch with the locals in a traditional Chinese neighbourhood. Discover more about traditional and modern arts and crafts in Nanluoguxiang Hutong District. Spend the night in Beijing.

DAY05:

BEIJING
Visit the Capital Museum. This large history museum reopened in 2006 in the current building which features a modern and futuristic design thanks to French architect Jean-Marie Duthilleul. In the afternoon, visit the 798 contemporary art district which grew out of a collection of artist studios housed in former industrial warehouses. Wander galleries and design shops to find souvenirs and gifts. Spend the night in Beijing.

DAY06:

BEIJING
Visit the Temple of Heaven, which has a history of more than 600 years. Stand on the platform where China’s emperors once performed solemn rites dedicated to Heaven and intended to encourage a good harvest of crops. In the afternoon, join the weekend crowds at Panjiayuan Market, a giant flea market which includes many antiques dealers and artists selling original artwork. You can find furniture, paintings, sculptures, textiles, jewellery, precious stones, calligraphy and art supplies. Spend the night in Beijing.

DAY07:

BEIJING
You have free time until your transfer to the airport for a flight to the next destination.
