Siem Reap - Phnom Penh - Sihanoukville

DAY01:

SIEM REAP
Arrive in Siem Reap, the capital of Cambodia. Spend the night in Siem Reap.

DAY02:

SIEM REAP
Depart for the visit of the city of Angkor Thom which includes the Bayon temple built in the 12th century by Cambodia’s most celebrated King, Jayavarman VII. Stand on the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King where royal ceremonies were performed. See Baphuon Temple which was reconstructed from 300,000 stone pieces after the Civil War. In the afternoon, visit the Grand Circuit of temples including Preah Khan, where you can get lost in the maze of corridors leading to Hindu and Buddhist statues. Watch the sun set over Angkor Wat and the surrounding rice fields of the Eastern Baray from Pre Rup, a pyramid-shaped temple set on a mountain. Spend the night in Siem Reap.

DAY03:

SIEM REAP
Take excursion to Banteay Srei, the site of Angkor’s most famous stone carving. Known as the Citadel of Women, the small temple features finely carved pink sandstone which is said to be so delicate that it could only have been carved by a woman’s hand. Travel to the massive 12th century Buddhist monastery of Banteay Kdei built by Jayavarman VII. Explore the nearby Sra Srang Royal Lake and the Hindu temple of Prasat Kravan. Spend the night in Siem Reap.

DAY04:

SIEM REAP
Begin your excursion to Tonle Sap Lake with ox cart ride through a traditional Khmer village to reach the pier. Take a boat trip among the floating and stilted fishing villages. The afternoon is entirely devoted to visit the prestigious Angkor Wat, the largest and most famous monument in the country. The temple has been in continuous use since it was built in the 12th century. Spend the night in Siem Reap.

DAY05:

SIEM REAP - PHNOM PENH
Take a 40-minute flight to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Take the whole day to explore the city including the Silver Pagoda where five tons of silver were used to make 5,000 floor tiles and more than 2,000 diamonds decorate a gold Buddha. Learn about Cambodia’s ancient artwork at the National Museum and more recent modern history at the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school turned into a torture centre under the Khmer Rouge regime. Spend the night in Phnom Penh.

DAY06:

PHNOM PENH - SIHANOUKVILLE
Depart for a four-hour drive to Sihanoukville. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing on the beach in your resort. Spend the night in Sihanoukville.

DAY07:

SIHANOUKVILLE
Book yourself onto a scuba diving class or simply take a short journey to another of Sihanoukville’s excellent white sand beaches. Enjoy Cambodian or Western food at the many resorts in this coastal area. Spend the night in Sihanoukville.

DAY08:

SIHANOUKVILLE - PHNOM PENH
You will have time to fit in one last swim at the beach before you make your way back to Phnom Penh. Transfer to Phnom Penh airport for an international flight to your next destination.
