DAY01:

BEIJING - BAOTOU
Take the night train to Baotou. You can sleep in soft berths with 4 people per compartment.

DAY02:

BAOTOU - DONSGSHENG - XILAMUREN (1700M ALTITUDE)
Arrive in Baotou early in the morning. Drive about one and a half hours to Dongsheng. Visit the mausoleum of Genghis Khan, whose architecture is inspired by the traditional Mongolian dwelling, the yurt. Inside, large frescoes depict the epic story of Khan, the first emperor of the Yuan dynasty. Discover the unique landscape of the steppe on a three-and-a-half-hour drive towards Xilamuren Camp. Be charmed by a welcoming ceremony and take your time exploring this small village. Gather around a campfire after dinner to enjoy traditional songs and dances. Stay overnight in a yurt. Choose between traditional yurts (bathrooms outside) or modern (hard shell and toilet inside).

DAY03:

XILAMUREN - HOHHOT - BEIJING
See the sun rise over the steppe. Take an excursion away from the camp on horseback or by foot. Learn about three Mongolian sports: horse racing, wrestling and archery. Drive to the capital of Inner Mongolia, Hohhot. Take a night train to Beijing.

DAY04:

BEIJING
Arrive in Beijing in the morning.
